Circular Patterns Paving

Whether it is your driveway or patio, paving does a great job in uplifting the aesthetics of your house exterior.

Perfect for large driveways or patios.

To create this pattern, you need to layer the paving in a circular pattern, starting from the centre.

Although the paving will have small spaces in between, they are simply filled with mortar or sand.

If this pattern is mixed with other patterns like herringbone, driveways can look stunning.

This pattern does not necessarily have to be a full circle to make an impression. A half or quarter circle looks good as well.

Go for a circular pattern if you have a round seating area in the yard or garden. You can also use your circular pattern as a starting point before you design your outside spaces.

Paving is laid in alternate direction creating a shape like ‘V’.

This pattern can be laid at 45 or 90 degrees and is often used in large to medium sized driveways.

The herringbone pattern draws attention to a paving surface. When laid in straight lines with even spacing, this simple arrangement appears sophisticated and textured.

As this pattern calls for laying paving in vertical angles, finishing edges typically calls for cutting end pavers to fit.

To lay the herringbone pattern without making cuts, plan to lay them at 90-degree angles.

Basket-weave Pattern

This pattern originated form the old English landscape design era. To bring a vintage look to your driveway, this pattern can be used.

The name "basket weave" is a reference to the way that strands of brick seemingly disappear under other bricks that they meet perpendicularly, then become visible again on the other side, just as when craftspersons are weaving actual baskets.

This pattern would run as follows, starting from the upper left corner and ending at the lower right:

Two bricks standing vertically
Two bricks running horizontally, right under those first two
Two bricks running horizontally, to the right of the first two
Two bricks standing vertically

Paving around the Pool

Concrete Pavers

Concrete Paving is not as costly as brick and natural stone paving. Concrete pavers are available in a wide range of colours.

Combine two or more colours pavers for a more natural look or use one colour throughout your pool to create a feeling of unity and elegance.

Always remember that the shade of colour you choose to use around your pool area is very important as dark colours draws plenty of heat, whilst light colours are often cooler.

Clay Paving

Clay pavers provide a unique finish through its rich, earthy colours and texture giving them the perfect legacy look.

These pavers are durable, low maintenance, slip resistant, so they are right for very active areas.

These pavers are manufactured in different thicknesses and are available in many different colours. It is an affordable option with a long life expectancy.

Clay pavers can be used for driveways and walkways, garden pathways, and patios, or around the pool area.

Travertine Pavers

This option is a more expensive paving around the pool area than concrete pavers, but the result is stunning.

Travertine pavers are made from a natural stone that has been cut into different shapes and sizes.

Travertine reflects the heat from sunrays while absorbing the cool of the ground underneath it. It is easy to install and almost immediately ready to step on.

Natural Stone

Natural stone products are very strong and have a long life expectancy, but is the most expensive paving choice for a pool.

Some granite materials are used as natural ground covering products and one of its most appealing characteristics is the fact that it doesn’t overheat in the sun.

These products are also hardened and can withstand the toughest weather conditions.
